Vital for Our Youth Capital Campaign

Currently, the Kidzeum of Health and Science is conducting the Vital for Our Youth Capital Campaign.

To ensure the viability and sustainability of a children’s museum, especially that of one focusing on health and science, the Kidzeum of Health and Science Board of Directors conducted a feasibility study and campaign assessment. The results were overwhelmingly positive in favor of developing and building a facility for children to learn through discovery and play.

With this foundation for the development process, Kidzeum has and will engage medical experts, healthcare professionals, educators, engineers, developers, environmental specialists, as well as leaders and families from the community and beyond. Using this extensive research and input from focus groups, Kidzeum has launched a $6 million Vital for Our Youth Capital Campaign.

The $6 million goal includes all costs associated with the project including (but not limited to):

• Building Development and Construction of 15,000-square-feet facility $3,000,000
• Use of LEED-certified processes and environmentally-friendly materials
• Professional Contractors, Laborers, and Workers
• Calculates to $200 per square foot
• Exhibit Development and Construction $2,100,000
• Professional Exhibit Designers, Consultants, and Developers
• Calculates to $200 per square foot of exhibit space (70% of facility)
• Operating Budget (for two-years to offset any pitfalls in the future) $800,000
• Endowment Fund (insurance to protect and build the future of Kidzeum) $100,000

As you can see, Kidzeum Board of Directors, Trustees, and members of the Advisory Committee have developed a comprehensive plan to ensure the stability, sustainability, and significance of building the Kidzeum of Health and Science. We are currently more than halfway to our goal, but YOU are a vital part of making Kidzeum a reality.

So far we've raised $3.2 million - so we're more than halfway to our goal!  But we still need your help - it's Vital to for You to Get Involved by making a gift to the Capital Campaign.

Please consider contributing to Kidzeum of Health and Science and help bring a much needed educational resource, entertainment venue, and travel destination benefitting our children and our community.
